Meredith Fierke’s Much Anticipated Debut Album to be Released June, 2008

Northfield, Minn.—Singer/songwriter Meredith Fierke’s much anticipated
solo debut album, “The Procession,” will be released in June 2008. A
special CD release concert is scheduled for Friday, August 8 at
Northfield’s historic Grand Theater, along with opening act Scaredy Cat
Blackie. Tickets are $8 and will be available at the door.

“The Procession” beautifully showcases Fierke’s hypnotic compositions
and ethereal voice. Known for her mesmerizing live performances, the
album captures the essence of Fierke’s compelling artistry, combining
intelligent and emotionally textured lyrics with arpeggiated guitar and
haunting and seductive vocals. Fierke’s songs are simultaneously dark
yet innocent, fragile yet fervently impassioned.

Produced by Paul Marino at Xeojax Production Studios (Chris Koza, The
New Congress, Alicia Wiley), “The Procession” also features Minneapolis
artists Chris Koza, Rob Morrow (Scaredy Cat Blackie), Luke Anderson
(Chris Koza), and Joseph Christenson (White Light Riot).

Well-healed in the Twin Cities music scene, Fierke has performed at The
Acadia Café, The Varsity Theater, The Loring Pasta Bar, Anodyne Coffee
Shop, and the Uptown Bar and Grill—in addition to countless hometown
shows in Northfield. She has recorded with engineers Joey Heines (Ozark
and Asher) and Andre LaSalle (Decay) at the legendary Pachyderm Studio
(PJ Harvey, Babes in Toyland, Nirvana). Fierke’s “Train Song” is
featured on Pachyderm’s recent compilation release, “So Large We Ran Out
of Room.” She is also featured on the upcoming Quickstar Productions’
compilation CD, “Chill Out.”

Fierke was voted Best Female Artist in the 2007 Northfield Entertainment
Guide and is listed as a Top Ten Minnesota Artist by BroadJam.com.
